Here’s a fantastically retro curved living room design that we bet you haven’t seen before.

This 1950s home — from floor to walls to ceiling — was part of a big circular house design created by lauded midcentury modern architects Anshen & Allen.

As seen here, this portion of the home’s rounded exterior was made of floor-to-ceiling glass — some were windows, others sliding doors.

But the glass was just part of what helped the inside of this unique living room transition nearly seamlessly into the outside patio.

The white mosaic tile flooring, laid in grid patterns within squares, was placed in such a way that it radiated out from the inside corner of the room. This floor covered the ground both indoors and outdoors.

Small planter bed insets near the main door — seen filled with yellow flowers — also appeared on both sides of the glass.

Along most of the background of the area shown here, wide vertical stripes were made with golden mosaic tile, interspersed with larger white ceramic tiles.

Within the tile border of this semi-circular modern room, a black rug was inset along the curve. Inside that carpeted area was placed an eye-shaped raised seating area — covered with mini white and gold tiles — that also served as a coffee table and had an indoor firepit.

Three simple black-framed chairs with white cushions provided additional seating.

Elsewhere, the soft furnishings in this retro living room — the sofa, an ottoman and the throw pillows, were pulled from a warm earth-toned palette, with red, orange, yellow and brown.

The room’s imaginative midcentury modern luxury style decor was more than enough to consider this room complete without the need for knick-knacks, paintings or photographs.

Just one extra decorative element was added: the tall golden tree sculpture that you can see in the front of the photo here.
