Linda Evans: After a long day on the set, the actress rushes home to her 15-room haven in Beverly Hills.

“I love my home,” says Linda Evans, “and if I have one complaint today it is that I don’t get to spend enough time there.”
She moved into the brick-and-wood house almost three years ago and calls the house “perfect,” because it is only 25 minutes from the studio yet far enough away from everything to be peaceful.
At home, Linda loves to cook and is working on a second cookbook. The first was one she wrote and gave to friends as gifts. The new one has been commissioned by a publisher. Another project is a book about women that she is writing with her teenaged stepdaughter, Sean Derek, daughter of her former husband John Derek.

Actress Linda Evans at home: The dining room
The dining room in the 30-year-old house has antique English chairs and table and a French armoire (far right). Off the room is an informal area that can be converted into a second dining room for parties. She sets up little round tables and can seat up to 30.
The blue kitchen (below) is where Linda — not the help — cooks for all parties, large or small.
“If I weren’t acting, I could make a living as a cook,” says the busy star of ABC’s Dynasty and the CBS movie, Bare Essence. Her specialties include crab enchiladas, Chinese fried rice, shrimp and chicken in a garlic-butter-and-mushroom sauce. An avid eater, too, she keeps in shape by working out in her gym, swimming in her pool, and chasing her four cats.

Living room’s pale colors show off the highly-polished floors and the antiques Linda found in Los Angeles and London. After a trip to Japan, she began collecting Oriental porcelain and now has many fine pieces.

The pretty bedroom has an English armoire and Windsor chairs. Her portrait above the fireplace was a gift years ago from Barbara Stanwyck, when they both worked in TV’s The Big Valley.
