For Easter: Quick-as-a-bunny egg nests made from Rice Krispie Treats
Fun Easter treats — Little candy-filled birds’ nests
1. Prepare one batch of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats as shown on the box [you can also find it on this page].
2. Add 1/2 cup green-tinted coconut.
3. Shape mixture into 16 3-inch nests. Fill cooled nests with miniature marshmallows, jellybeans or chocolate eggs.
To make a chocolaty-rich variation, substitute Cocoa Krispies, and use regular coconut.
Makes 16 football-shaped treats

Rice Krispies treats basic recipe
Ingredients needed to make the Rice Krispies treats/Cocoa Krispies treats for this recipe:
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (10 oz., about 40) marshmallows OR 4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal OR Cocoa Krispies cereal
Microwave method: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. (Microwave cooking times may vary.) Add Rice Krispies, and stir until well-coated.
Divide warm mixture into sixteen parts, and shape into 3-inch “nests.” Cool before filling with jelly beans or other Easter candies.
Stove-top method: In large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies, and stir until well-coated.
