Halloween has always been a festival of spooks, candies, and creativity. But in the 70s, it got an extra sprinkle of magic with these shaped melted plastic decorations.

When you put them in a window, they were eye-catching in the daylight and had a soft glow at night (presumably from the lights inside the house), and became an instant hit.

They were super cheap (and cheaply made) with translucent popcorn-like plastic beads all the way through, but the designs — including a jack o’lantern, a witch and a ghost — were a fun combo of tradition and novelty. Here’s a look back!
