Red, white and blue flag cakes are always fun to have for patriotic holidays, and this stars and stripes dessert - covered with bright berries - has one of the simplest recipes around!

Ingredients

  • 2 pints strawberries
  • 12 ounce pound cake loaf, cut into 8-12 slices
  • 1-1/3 cups blueberries
  • 12 ounces whipped topping, thawed

Instructions

  1. Slice 1 cup of strawberries: halve remaining strawberries. Set aside.
  2. Line bottom of 12- x 8-inch glass baking dish with cake slices.
  3. Top with 1 cup of sliced strawberries, 1 cup blueberries and whipped topping.
  4. Arrange strawberry halves and remaining blueberries over the whipped topping to create a flag design (as shown).
  5. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
