Walnut chocolate chip cookies

Yield: 42 cookies
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Additional Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped Diamond walnuts
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Resift flour with baking powder and salt.
  2. Combine butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the flour mixture, then the walnuts and chocolate.
  4. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets, allowing room for spreading.
  5. Bake above oven center at 350 F about 15 minutes, until edges are lightly browned.
  6. Let stand a minute; remove to wire racks to cool.

Notes

Makes about 3-1/2 dozen cookies, each 2-3/4- to 3-inches in diameter.
